No. 11 Rams beat No. 18 Santa Rosa; split games at SRJC Crossover

SANTA ROSA – The No. 11 state-ranked City College of San Francisco women's basketball team closed out the Santa Rosa Crossover with a 71-70 win over the No. 18-ranked host Bear Cubs on Sunday. The Rams ended up splitting their games at the tourney after dropping an 83-62 contest to a tough No. 4-ranked San Joaquin Delta College squad on Saturday.

The Rams picked up their third win of the season by narrowly edging host Santa Rosa. CCSF was down 29-27 at halftime and trailed 51-47 heading into the fourth quarter. But the Rams outscored the Bear Cubs 24-19 over the final 10 minutes to pull off the win.

No. 4 San Joaquin Delta 83, No. 11 CCSF 62
The Rams held a narrow 15-13 lead after the first quarter but fell behind in the second and never recovered. Delta put the game out of reach by outscoring the Rams 26-11 in the third before cruising to the win.

June Lumumba nearly posted a double-double in the loss but totaled 10 points and 9 rebounds to lead CCSF in the loss. Alessandra Nelson had 9 points and 6 boards while Alexis Cornejo also went for 9 points as well.

The Rams moved to 3-1 overall after the weekend's action. CCSF returns to the court next week (Nov. 20-21) when the Rams will compete at the two-day Sierra College Crossover. CCSF will take on Solano College on Thursday at 3 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. game on Friday against College of the Siskiyous.
