FREMONT – The City College of San Francisco women's tennis team will be well-represented at the upcoming state championships after the Rams put together some solid efforts at the Coast Conference tournament on Friday at Ohlone College.
CCSF will send a pair of singles players and two doubles squads to the 3C2A State Championships that are set to begin on April 24 at the prestigious Ojai Valley Tennis Club in Southern California.
The Rams are led by No. 1 singles player Elizabeth Au and No. 2 Natalie Batlin. The two advanced to the Coast Conference quarterfinals to qualify for the state tournament. They will also team up in doubles competition to compete at the state championships as well.
Joining the duo for the Rams will be the No. 2 doubles team of Rita Williams and Trevor Wade.
CCSF recently closed out its team schedule with a tough 5-4 loss to Modesto Junior College in an opening-round match of the Northern California Regional Playoffs. But it was another impressive regular season for the Rams and head coach Mary Graber as they captured their second straight Coast Conference championship with a 10-2 conference record.
