Naré Avetian
Title: Assistant Coach

Naré Avetian enters her first season as an assistant coach with the City College of San Francisco women’s soccer program, bringing a unique combination of collegiate, international, and leadership experience to the Rams. A former CCSF standout, team captain, and international player, Avetian is passionate about mentoring student-athletes and helping them achieve success both on the field and in the classroom.

Avetian recently completed an outstanding collegiate career at San Francisco State University, where she served as a team captain while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in May 2026. Known for her leadership, resilience, and commitment to her teammates, she played a key role in helping guide the Gators both on and off the field.

Prior to transferring to San Francisco State, Avetian was a standout performer at City College of San Francisco. During her time with the Rams, she earned First Team All Coast-North Conference honors in 2025 and served as a team co-captain. Her journey at CCSF was defined by perseverance and determination as she overcame a significant ACL and lateral meniscus injury. Through months of rehabilitation and hard work, she returned to the field for a remarkable comeback season, becoming an inspiration to her teammates and a testament to the power of resilience.

In addition to her collegiate accomplishments, Avetian has represented Armenia on the international stage. She earned selections to the Armenia U-19 Women’s National Team in 2019 and 2022 and received call-ups to the Senior Women’s National Team in 2021 and 2023. Competing at the international level provided her with invaluable experience and a global perspective on player development, team culture, and high-performance soccer.

As a player, Avetian built a reputation for her work ethic, leadership, and ability to overcome adversity. Those qualities now serve as the foundation of her coaching philosophy, as she works to help student-athletes navigate the challenges of collegiate athletics while maximizing their potential as players, students, and people.

A recent graduate and former team captain at both the community college and university levels, Avetian brings firsthand experience of the student-athlete journey. Her background in psychology, combined with her competitive experience at the collegiate and international levels, makes her a valuable addition to the CCSF women’s soccer coaching staff and an outstanding mentor for the next generation of Rams.
