ROCKLIN – City College of San Francisco earned one of its best wins of the season as the Rams traveled to Sierra College and handed the Wolverines its first loss of the season, a 1-0 defeat on Friday.
The Rams have won two straight and improved to 4-2 overall.
CCSF and Sierra both got goals in the opening half. Chemnui Simpson got the Rams on the board first with her goal in the 36th minute. Moments later, Sierra tied it up with the equalizer in the 40th minute.
The Rams took the lead for good just moments after the second-half opening whistle. Luz Hernandez knocked in what proved to be the game-winner off the corner kick from Anahi Gomez in the 46th minute.
The CCSF defense was able to lock in the rest of the way and keep Sierra from finding the back of the net. Bailey Perales tallied 3 saves in goal for the Rams to earn the win.
The Rams will look to extend their winning streak on Tuesday (Sep. 16) when they host Cosumnes River College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
