SAN FRANCISCO – Defending state champion City College of San Francisco is a win from a return trip to the state tournament after the No. 1-seeded Rams dispatched No. 16 Foothill College by a final score of 85-52 in a second-round game of the Northern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday night.
With the victory, CCSF improved to 28-1 overall. The Rams have won now 17 straight games and are a perfect 12-0 at home this season.
CCSF is set to host No. 9 Columbia College on Saturday, March 7 in a regional final of the Northen California playoffs. Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason game at Brad Duggan Court at the Wellness Center are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. The winner of the third-round playoff game advances to the 3C2A State Championships on March 13-15 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
The Rams are looking to capture back-to-back state titles and have won six in the program's history (1962, 2011, 2016, 2018, 2022, 2025), including a record five state championships by head coach Justin Labagh. CCSF has reached the state tournament in nine of the last 10 seasons.
No. 9 Columbia advanced to Saturday's game with a narrow 67-65 win at No. 8 Cosumnes River College in its second-round game. The Claim Jumpers were co-champions of the Central Valley Conference and are 25-5 overall.
CCSF and Columbia will be meeting for the first time this season.
Other North regional final matchups include No. 10 Sierra at No. 2 Santa Rosa, No. 6 Yuba at No. 3 West Valley, and No. 5 Modesto at No. 4 San Jose.
