MODESTO – No. 1 state-ranked City College of San Francisco continued its dominant start to the 2025 season by racking up three more wins over the weekend at the Modesto Junior College Tournament.
The Rams opened the three-day event on Thursday with a 76-45 rout of Fresno City College. That was followed by a 69-63 win over No. 22 Yuba College on Friday. And in a showdown of unbeatens, the Rams handed No. 7 Modesto its first loss of the season with an 83-72 victory in the tournament championship final on Saturday.
Freshman guard Kenyon DeMuynck was named tournament MVP for the second time this season in leading the Rams while sophomore guard Vitor Oliveira joined him on the all-tournament team.
CCSF 76, Fresno City 45
The Rams opened up with a 33-26 halftime lead before blowing out FCC 43-19 in the second half to turn a close game into a rout.
Elliot Conley led San Francisco with 14 points and 8 rebounds. James Moore and Jordy McKenzie both added 8 points each.
CCSF 69, Yuba 63
The Rams held off a second-half comeback attempt by Yuba and held on for the six-point victory.
DeMuynck scored a team-best 15 points to go along with 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Moore chipped in with 14 points and Oliveira added 11 points.
CCSF 83, Modesto 72
The Rams came out on top in a highly anticipated tournament final. The Rams built up a 49-34 halftime advantage that ultimately held up. Modesto went on to outscore San Francisco 38-34 over the final 20 minutes but the 15-point advantage was too much to overcome.
DeMuynck closed out the tourney with a game-high 18 points. He added 5 boards and 3 blocks. Moore, Conley, and Ahmaree Muhammed all scored 10 points each. Oliveira contributed 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
CCSF improved to 11-0 overall on the season. The Rams are back in action on Thursday (Dec. 18) when they open up play at the three-day Tristan Hill Holiday Tournament at San Joaquin Delta College. San Francisco is scheduled to face No. 6 West Valley College at 3 p.m.
