No. 1 Rams go 3-0 to win Alvin Hunter Classic championship

SAN BERNARDINO – No. 1 state-ranked City College of San Francisco continued its unbeaten run to open the 2025-26 season with three more wins at the San Bernardino Valley College Alvin Hunter Classic tournament. The three-day event wrapped up on Sunday.

The defending state champion Rams knocked off a pair of state-ranked opponents, getting wins over No. 6 San Bernardino Valley, No. 8 East Los Angeles.

No. 1 CCSF 93, LA Southwest 81
The Rams trailed at halftime 48-43 but outscored LA Southwest 50-33 over the final 20 minutes to pull out the opening-day win on Friday.

James Moore scored a game-high 21 points while Vitor Oliveira posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kenyon DeMuynck added 17 points and Ahmaree Muhammed contributed all over the court with 14 points, 8 steals, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Saturday's semifinal was a close contest throughout. The Rams held a narrow 41-38 halftime lead as the two squads continued to battle into the second. With the score tied 65-65 with 4:49 to go, CCSF tore off a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to go out in front for good, 75-65 with 1:33 left in the game.

Moore once again led CCSF in scoring with 15 points. He also added 6 assists and 4 boards. Elliot Conley chipped in with 13 points and 5 rebounds while Muhammed was solid with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

No. 1 CCSF 79, No. 6 San Bernardino Valley 48
The Rams turned a highly-anticipated showdown between a pair of the top teams in the state into a blowout. San Francisco held San Bernardino Valley to just 18 points in the opening half and took a decisive 31-18 lead into the break that the Wolverines would never challenge.

DeMuynck earned a double-double with game-highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Conley posted 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals while Jaeden Hutchins totaled 10 points and 5 boards.

DeMuynck was named the MVP of the Alvin Hunter Classic while Moore, Conley, and Muhammed were selected to the All-Tournament team.

CCSF, now 6-0 overall, is back in action on Friday (Nov. 21) at 7 p.m. when the Rams host No. 4 state-ranked West Valley College in a huge non-conference game.
