CCSF’s basketball teams are a combined 25-3 after winning respective tournaments

The City College of San Francisco women’s basketball team continued its torrid pace over the weekend by winning the Ninth Annual CCSF Golden Gate Classic.

The Rams moved to 11-2 by avenging last year’s loss in the state championship to East Los Angeles College, 81-73.

NorCal State Player of the Year Gabrielle Vigil led the way by averaging 23 points and 2.6 steals over the three games. She shot 15-for-28 from deep during that span, earning herself tournament MVP.

The CCSF men’s basketball team was just as successful in its tournament appearence over the weekend, winning the San Joaquin Delta Tournament.

Guard Zach Copeland earned tourney MVP by averaging 26 points over three games. He also logged seven steals against Reedley College.

The Rams beat Delta 85-70 in the championship game, when Copeland netted 28.

The successful trip brings CCSF’s record to 14-1 on the season.
